Down In The River is an evocation of material memory.
Tarlatan seeps out: a leak, a reaching, an infiltration.
Knowledge gathers here and falls into an understanding of this waterway.
Alongside, daily acts of erasure are performed up on the kelp basket.
The body of kelp holds the knowledge. The artist reflects a violence enacted on her lineage, mirroring inherited patterns, she performs an inquiry into reconciling knowledge holding and knowledge loss through materials.
