Date: 27-Aug-2012 – 29-Aug-2012
Location: Contemporary Art Tasmania
In line with its goals to both nurture and challenge young and emerging artists, Tasdance has engaged Melbourne-based dancer and choreographer Marnie Palomares to create a dance work that responds to the space and the current exhibition in the CAST Gallery.
Somewhere else is about observation, installation and display. It is a creative and physical response to art, audience and architecture. The performers invite the audience on a journey to explore a site which they playfully share through shifting perspectives.
At CAST, the dancers will respond to In A Silent Way, an exhibition of works by eight sound artists curated by Matt Warren. It is an installation where sound works merge in unexpected ways and sounds from the ‘real’ outside world can intrude and be part of the exhibition.
Tuesday 28 August: 6.00 pm
Wednesday, 29 August: 11.30 am and 12.30 pm
All performances are free
