CRUSH is an exploration of tension between species and dust, created in the semi-desert of Karoo during the 2019 Tankwa Artscape residency in South Africa.
Julia Drouhin is a French Australian artist and curator based in lutruwita/Tasmania. She explores the embodiment of invisible sound-streams that reveal friction in sociality and shift usual modes of transmission through radioscapes, installations and collaborative performances. Her work using field recordings, electromagnetic frequencies as well as textiles, edible and found objects had been presented in Europe, Hong Kong, Brazil, South Africa and Australia, as well as broadcast on terrestrial airwaves and online radios after her Ph.D in aesthetics, sciences and technology about the art of walking and radio performances in public space (University of Paris 8-France-2011).
The CAT Project Space is made available to CAT Studio Residents for new works, experimentation and works in progress.
