Networked Art Forms and Tactical Magick Faerie Circuits

Date: 31-May-2013 – 30-Jun-2013

Location: Contemporary Art Tasmania

A series of events inspired by computer culture. Artists, Programmers and thinkers from the frontline of the maker aesthetic.

Networked Art Forms and Tactical Magick Faerie Circuits (NAF:TMFC) is a durational event – symposium, performances, workshops, exhibition. NAF:TMFC has been selected to be a satellite event of the International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA2013) in Sydney. The project has been developed by Hobart-based artist organisation Miss Despoinas and is in two parts. The first comprising a ritual of theory, practice and hands-on critical exchange through experiential learning events occurring over three days: 31 May – 2 June. The various outcomes of this dynamic event will continue to be generated and presented in the gallery between 3 – 30 June. The latter will also include a networked performance program, to both realise and explore the ideas and projects generated during NAF:TMFC and continue the dialogue ignited by this intensive 3 day period of exchange.

Full program of events, projects and participants details available at www.tacticalmagick.net

This project has been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.

The Regional Arts Fund is an Australian Government initiative supporting the arts in regional and remote Australia delivered in partnership with Tasmanian Regional Arts.

NAF:TMFC has received financial support from the Mondriaan Fund, Amsterdam and an Arts Tasmania Artsbridge grant. The Notorious R&D event is presented in association with MONA as part of Dark MOFO 2013. NAF:TMFC is a satellite event of ISEA2013.
