Walk On: Part 1
A sensory walking exploration for the public. These works are about reintegration, connection and community, and the varied stages we navigate in a time of uncertainty. Reminiscent of past, darker days – our societies are under mass instruction and directives pertaining to rationing, restrictions on movement, physical contact, work and play.  Acknowledging and reflecting upon this and our current circumstances, Walk On will draw on both Zen meditation and Tasmanian bush tradition, and will offer a hopeful, textural and meditative experience of connection, and expression bringing in elements of folklore, ecology and meditative instruction, while also incorporating soundscapes (a mixture of field recordings and music) as well as short instructions for choreographed movements at designated intervals creating a uniquely reflective experience for participants in the Tasmanian landscape.

Walk On is a 2 part project including a series of audio walks that co-exists with performance, community engagement, and a documentary exhibition.

Please note on the walk artist Eddie James will be documenting the process. These images may be used for the purposes of future work/exhibition, the artist will assure the subjects faces will not be in the image.

By registering for this event you agree to taking part in this process.
